Hybrid Cars, Trucks, & SUVs

The Toyota Prius hybrid car is the undisputed king of hybrid cars for a number of reasons, but most important is the fact that it is elegantly and stylishly unique. Only other unique hybrids will ever challenge the Prius.

2012 Toyota Prius Hybrid

So you're in the market for a hybrid car. That's awesome.

Then the first car on your list has to be the Toyota Prius.

Even if you know the Prius isn't going to be the right car for you, you still need to begin your hybrid shopping trip with the Prius?

Why? Well, I'd ask why not?

The Toyota Prius is simply the best hybrid available, at least in terms of the mix of fuel economy, cargo room and price. The Prius simply defines hybrid practicality.

Now, certainly, hybrid SUVs, for instance, might be more to your liking, but still give the Prius a look. You'll be surprised that the Prius actually offers more cargo space than a hybrid SUV like the Ford Escape hybrid -- and it's much more fuel efficient and cost-effective to boot.

Certainly, not everyone likes the design of the Prius either, but sit in one and you'll be shocked how what seems like such a small car from the outside is actually so big inside.

Furthermore, the Prius offers a lesson in hybrid reliability. Even the first gen Prius -- now over a decade old -- is still considered a good used car buy by Consumer Reports, as are the 2nd and 3rd generation Prius hybrids.

If you're in the market for a hybrid, you simply have to start with the 2012 Toyota Prius because it has set the bar in the hybrid space, and continues to do so even today.
