Cadillac Escalade Hybrid

A full sized luxury hybrid.

The Escalade hybrid is a full hybrid that uses GM's dual mode hybrid technology.

With two modes, GM is able to optimize fuel economy in a number of different driving conditions, while providing full size SUV utility. Whereas other hybrids do not maintain their ability to tow, the Escalade hybrid retains almost 100 percent of this capability.

Essentially, one drive mode assists with slow, city driving. The other mode assist with highway driving.

Overall, the two-mode hybrid system should make the Escalade hybrid 25% more fuel efficient overall. However, in city driving driving, fuel economy can be increased by as much as 50 percent.
